Sound Meditation with Gōng hé @ Union Square

about this event

This Sunday, join us as we use breath work, visualization, and overtone rich instruments to journey inwards and explore love.

We will start the event with a short conversation on sound, followed by visualization and breath work, before diving into the meditative overtones of the gong and other instruments. We will close the evening as a community, allowing people to ask questions and share their experiences.

DETAILS:

* Come as you are with open ears and comfortable clothing.
* Mats and eyemasks will be provided. Bring your favorite pillow or blanket if you’d like.
* We will start promptly at 7pm so arrive early.

ABOUT SOUND MEDITATION:

Sound meditation (also sometimes referred to as sound therapy, sound bath, or sound healing) is active listening for well-being. The overtones of the gong, chimes, drums, and shamanic instruments are played in harmony to quiet the mind, soothe the emotional body, and allow for a deeper state of self awareness, clarity, and relaxation. When entering a deep meditative state through sound, not only can we improve our circulation and sleep patterns, but we can be transported to states of being beyond our conscious awareness and access the fruitful knowledge of our intuition.

Allow yourself to drop in to the experience and tune in to the vibrations of community, self, and sound.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS:

Our events are for anyone interested in meditation, music, or wellness and mental health. We are sound practitioners with yoga, business, and botanical backgrounds who do pop-ups around the city to share the magic of sound meditation.
