Traditional Mayan Tobacco Ceremony

about this event

Explore Ancient Wisdom in a Mayan Tobacco Ceremony

Join us for a sacred exploration of Mayan spirituality with special guest, Miriam Novichoc, affectionately known as Mimi. As a steward of her Mayan lineage, Mimi extends an invitation to delve into the traditional Tobacco Ceremony — a venerable practice deeply woven into the spiritual tapestry of the Maya people.

Experience the Sanctity of Tobacco:

In Mayan culture, tobacco is honored not merely as a plant but as a powerful ally in the quest for understanding and connection with the spiritual world. In this ceremony, Mimi will lead us through the hallowed use of tobacco, a ritual that provides purification, clarity, and a pathway to communicate with the divine. Participants will engage in the ceremonial consumption of tobacco, guided by Mimi’s experienced hand, to offer their intentions and connect with the higher realms.

This ritual is a testament to the collective journey of life, bringing us closer to our ancestors and the natural world through the shared experience of the ceremony. It is an opportunity to embrace communal healing and to honor the enduring legacy of the Mayan people.

Multiple Dates Available:

Mimi will be facilitating several Tobacco Ceremonies, so there are multiple opportunities to join us.

Our Vision with JourneyOn:

Our collaboration with Mimi demonstrates JourneyOn’s commitment to bridging indigenous wisdom with the modern world. Encountering Mimi’s ceremonies in Guatemala inspired us to host her in the U.S., sharing her deep knowledge and spiritual practices with a wider audience. We’re treating this almost like an artist in residency, where Mimi hosts whatever events she feels called to facilitate and we simply support her in organizing everything behind the scenes.

More than two thirds of all ticket sales go directly to Mimi, making this a significant economic opportunity for her.
