Online Yoga Nidra | Bedtime Workshop for Deep Rest

about this event

Let Stephen Marks, one of London’s top Nidra teachers, relax you with his unique nidras to help you escape and drift away to a more relaxed space…

This 60 minute livestream bedtime workshop features two Nidra’s, or sleep meditations. Stephen’s unique style weaves guided visualisations with stunning sound and music scapes, taking us on a conscious sleep journey which truly soothes and settles the body. An evocative experience designed to bring about deep rest, these sessions are an absolute treat for the senses.

“This is such a perfect way to wind-down at the end of the day. I’m terrible for staying up late and doing a yoga nidra session with Stephen really recharges my energy for the next day.”

-Uma R.

What to expect

We recommend finding an undisturbed space and a yoga mat / blanket to lie on (though you’re also welcome to get into bed!)

Having a cushion and a blanket/extra layers to hand might be useful for staying cosy in the periods of extended stillness. Sometimes we like to wear extra socks, too. And finally, some water to keep you hydrated.

Sessions take place via Zoom and you will receive the livestream link just before the session starts. You’re welcome to have your camera on or off for the session.

Benefits of Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a form of sleep meditation or deep relaxation. It helps us to experience absolute relaxation and recalibrate, releasing tension and stress, inducing more restful sleep and boosting the immune system.

Practitioner:

Stephen has been practising yoga for over 20 years. his yoga story has taken him around the world and into many styles and schools.

Stephen is equally focussed on relaxation techniques and mind/body connection. He did his teacher training with the shamanic school of yoga in the rainforests of Costa Rica and is further qualified with the Yoga Nidra Network and as a meditation teacher. He describes Yoga Nidra as the greatest contribution to yoga in modern times.

Stephen believes meditation gives us the tools to best equip ourselves to reduce stress and also increase mental performance and creativity. He compares the mind to a musical instrument. The best orchestral players tune their instruments every time they play. So why not fine tune your mind!
