Intro to Meditation

This workshop will cover the basics of meditation: how to sit, common forms of meditation, and how to build a meditation routine.

Over the course of the hour we’ll learn:

  1. Posture
  2. Relaxation techniques
  3. Object-based meditation
  4. Mantra meditation
  5. Opening and closing techniques
  6. How to integrate mindfulness into your entire day.

We won’t be sitting for the full hour, but rather will have brief, 5ish minute instructions followed by practice & discussion.

If you’re joining in person & have a meditation cushion, bench, etc., you’re more than welcome to bring it with you. For folks that don’t have a cushion, there will be chairs provided as well as instruction on ideal posture in a chair.
