Winter Crafting & Skills Series: Dried Flower Bouquets & Garlands

about this event

Join Caroline, a farmer, textile artist, & poet, at City Farm SLO once a month to learn practical textile & fiber skills, flower crafts, & more! Winter has long been a time of nesting within the home & tending to inner realms. Along a similar vein of ‘self care,’ it can be an especially potent time to gather in a slower capacity with community & loved ones. We invite you to join us once a month at City Farm SLO to engage in some ancestral crafting practices. All curated with local resources, and with the intention of weaving (quite literally!) a deepened sense of connection between one another & our local land as it takes rest, too. We’ll work with what’s left of harvest season’s bounty to create art & tools that can last decades, and we’ll do it in good company!

Flowers have a Romance language all their own! Valentine’s Day weekend, join Caroline at City Farm to embrace the folklore & love language of the flowers. We’ll craft dried floral bouquets & string some decorative garlands that can bring both beauty & (it’s thought by some) magic to your home.

$20 per person. $30 for duos/couples (bring your Valentine, Galentine, or another flower lover!).

All materials provided. Tea & farm snacks included.
