A six day, five night yoga retreat in a 16th century historic chateau located in the Bordeaux wine country set above the Dordogne River Valley in Southwest France, June 16 – 21st with Light On Lotus founder, Kate Duyn.  

Set on 90 acres of private grounds, practice yoga daily in the pavilion, originally built in the 16th century as a wine making facility. The stunning heated swimming pool sits out in the garden above the Dordogne River Valley adjacent to the on-property walnut groves and is surrounded by roses, rosemary and lavender. Beyond the garden,  large fields suitable for soccer, badminton and soft archery. The extensive quiet, country roads just outside the property are perfect for biking, running and long walks. The star-gazing will be sublime due to the lack of light pollution that far out in the countryside. 

The last evening of the retreat is the summer solstice, also known as Litha or Midsummer, is a celebration of the longest day of the year. It’s a time to honor the sun’s power, nature’s abundance, and the start of summer. We’ll celebrate with an outdoor yoga practice, feast on one of the outdoor terraces, and dance around a bonfire.

Optional additions include, but are not included in the room price: massages, wine tastings, dinner at a Michelin Star Restaurant in a neighboring town, day trip to the coast.

Guests check-in from 3pm on Monday the 16th and check-out by noon on the 21st. Please note that on three of the retreat days, two yoga practices will be offered daily, with the exception of the arrival day, departure day, and day of the day trip to St Emilion, when there will be one practice.

* Airfare is not included. The chateau is just over 2 hours from Paris on the TGV. You can buy high-speed train tickets from Paris to Bordeaux on the SNCF website, the Oui app, or through services like Omio, Rail Europe, and Trainline. You can also fly directly into the Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD).
