Movement as Medicine

Women’s Weekend Retreat

“In many shamanic societies, if you came to a shaman or medicine person complaining of being disheartened, dispirited, or depressed, they would ask one of four questions. When did you stop dancing? When did you stop singing? When did you stop being enchanted by stories? When did you stop finding comfort in the sweet territory of silence? Where we have stopped dancing, singing, being enchanted by stories, or finding comfort in silence is where we have experienced the loss of soul. Dancing, singing, storytelling, and silence are the four universal healing salves.” – Gabrielle Roth

You are invited to a delightful gathering of sisters to explore the sparkle of your inner flame, the depths of your inner waters, the weaving patterns of your breath and the joy of rooting your feet into Mother Earth.

Throughly years of facilitating women’s gatherings and movement classes, I observed that there is something unique that happens when women get together. Our nervous systems crave these kind of experiences: there is a remembrance of joy, a deep exhale and a resonance of womb spaces attuning to a frequency of ease, grace and power.

When we make a choice to come together to play and to pray, we allow ourselves to quiet the busy mind, to drop the weight of linear demands of ordinary life, to find emptiness and then refill our cups with the sacred alchemy of sisterhood love.

For this weekend, I’ve curated for you some of my favorite practices and experiences for loving ourselves up, nurturing our connection with the elements within and around us, bringing a deeper level of presence and care to our relationship with spirit.
