Join us at the Soft Space by Mama Glow for an afternoon of African ancestral movement!
Learn the sacred movements, ancestral rhythms, and folklore of the Afro-Cuban Orisha tradition. Join Maya Luisa, priestess of Oshun for an afternoon grounding our bodies and spirits in Afro-Cuban dance. Afro-Cuban dance is a unique language of movement created and kept alive by African people forcibly brought to the shores of Cuba, who by day worked as enslaved people and by night dances as Gods. This rich cultural and ancestral tradition cultivates a deep spiritual connectedness with the living forces of nature. It renews collective strength, helps us to regain a sense of our rich African identity, and fosters resilience from within.
Join us as we embody the divine feminine forces through the dance language and musical incantations of the orishas: Oyá, Yemayá, and Oshun of the Yorùbá tradition. Join us for an afternoon of soul nourishment, joy, movement, and transformation. Beginners and folks of all backgrounds are welcome.
