THE BALANCING – A Solar Eclipse Journey At SkyRise Farm

about this event

At @skyrisefarm we deeply acknowledge terrestrial and celestial cycles as pivotal points within an interconnected cosmic order. This, a lineage of remembrance, walked as our Ancestors and their Ancestors before.

And so we mark these moments within community. Ceremonially. Upon the land. Reflecting on how their energy can influence our physical and emotional perspective of reality.

_____________

Join Vibrational Designer Sarah Rigano of FORM + LIGHT (@formandlight) in co-creation with “In Resonance” Functional Yoga Teacher and End Of Life Doula, Kristen Pratt (@_liminalspace_) upon the lands of SkyRise Farm (@skyrisefarm), for “THE BALANCING.” A Solar Eclipse Journey.

Our time together will encourage slowing down and deep grounded presence during what’s considered a sacred, celestial moment. This, an act of reverence, as in many cultures eclipses are associated with solemnity — not spectacle, marking the end of a cycle, the death and rebirth of the Sun through an intimate embrace with the Moon.

_____________

Guests will be guided on an afternoon journey of individual and collective reflection to include:

* A welcoming broth and closing tea specifically created for our time by “In Resonance” culinary artist Tanya Himeji Romero of @woodlandpantry. Both, deliciously nourishing and grounding, cleansing and supporting, thanks to the long simmer of specifically chosen plant allies to clear stagnation and embrace vitality.

* An exploratory discussion around the science and spirituality behind the eclipse, including an acknowledgment of varied global cultural protocols and perspectives.

* A contemplation on how past mythology can coexist with the present moment in the creation of individual cosmologies and beliefs beneficial for modern living.

* The ignition of a New Moon Community Fire to act as a central source of illumination and presence throughout the eclipse transit.

* A meditative journey around alignment as inspired by the Earth, Moon and Sun and how balance, or its absence, is informing our lives. Asking what can be blessed? Shifted? Offered to the flames an act of release and rebirthing?

* A slow, grounding practice guided by Kristen that will encourage full presence in body and deep anchoring upon the Earth. To include intentional movement, long exhale breaths and gentle vocal toning for subtle body alignment and nervous system support.

* An invitation for guests to experience the partial eclipse however they feel is most empowering- held in the circle, individually out upon the land or quietly amid the woodshed meditation space.

* A returning call around the fire to close our journey, including offerings of sacred plants made in gratitude for the moment shared and wisdom received.

* Closing tea and departure.

_____________

We look forward to welcoming you into the circle! Please note:

* This offering is inclusive to all genders, colors, inclinations and abilities, age 13 and above.

ABOUT TANYA HIMEJI ROMERO

Tanya Himeji Romero (she/her) is an artist whose vision for over a decade has materialized in her work as a forest farmer, plant steward, herbalist and culinary alchemist. While she believes any medium can be used to communicate our creativity, reverence and inherent connection, plants and food are her principal ones for their deeply resonant healing potential.

Japanese-Spanish in heritage, Canadian by birth, and now residing in the Hudson Valley, Tanya’s upbringing in the hands of contrasting cultural traditions, as well as her travels, necessitated the inner work of reconciling dissonance, which previously left her feeling isolated and confused.

Intimacy with Nature reminded her that separation is an illusion. By surrendering to both the paradox and the infinite depth of connectivity in the context of her relationship to the Natural World, she has experienced the healing of a lifetime. It is from here and through the guidance of Nature that she has embraced her calling as a conduit for plant medicines to be regeneratively utilized in this world.

Tanya believes that all being is relatedness and that at heart we all desire to be seen, heard, respected and nourished- this, a beautiful reality she generously communicates and cultivates within her work.
