3 of the Primary Brewing Methods with Colin Hudon (Topanga, CA)

about this event

In our tradition, we embrace five primary brewing methods, each tailored to diverse occasions, teas, and experiences, allowing the tea’s unique qualities to shine. These methods shape both the taste and qi of the tea, guiding us on a journey from the tranquility of meditation to the depth of mastery.

Join us for an insightful exploration of our three primary brewing techniques, along with a focused review of the leaves in a bowl technique. We will also engage in a thoughtful dialogue on the philosophical distinctions between bowl tea and gongfu practices. While this won’t be an exhaustive study of each technique, it will provide a window into the art of tea, highlighting how these techniques and perspectives pay homage to its essence.

Workshop includes tea ceremony followed by instruction, discussion, and Q&A.

Guided by Colin Hudon, physician of Chinese Medicine, founder of Living Tea, and student of the Leaf for more than twenty years.
