In our tradition, we embrace five brewing methods, each tailored to diverse occasions, teas, and experiences, allowing the tea’s unique qualities to shine. These methods inform the taste and energy of the tea, guiding us on a journey from the equanimity of meditation to the sensitivity of what makes better tea.
Join us for an insightful exploration of bowl tea and the ways that we can develop this practice in our daily lives. We’ll also engage in a thoughtful dialogue on the philosophical distinctions between bowl tea and gongfu practice. While this won’t be an exhaustive study of each technique, it will provide a window into the art of tea, highlighting how these techniques and perspectives pay homage to its essence.
The workshop will include tea ceremony followed by instruction, discussion, and Q&A.
Guided by Colin Hudon, physician of Chinese Medicine, founder of Living Tea, and student of tea for more than fifteen years.
