Regeneration: Your Business’ Potential Role in Evolving our Food System

about this event

The purpose of this reNourish Studio Zoom Summit is to experience regeneration as a developmental process with serious potential impacts on your business and the food system of which your business is a part.

Do you have a sense that our food system can deliver more value to people and the planet than it is currently delivering? Have aspects of our industrialized food system brought you to tears and made you want to change it, but you don’t know how? Have you been working on shifting the food system for years and feel frustrated and burned out? Do you wish that your work aiming to improve our food system was more effective? Have you heard about regeneration but find it impossible to explain and maybe even harder to engage with?

So what is regeneration really? To us regeneration is not something that can be certified or defined as a simple set of practices, not because we aren’t clear what regeneration is, because regeneration is a process not a static thing that can be labeled. Regeneration is a process of going back to the potential of a person, place, business, or system and seeing how it can evolve given the context of the present moment. If living systems are not constantly processing energy and in motion, they begin to die. In ecosystems, regeneration happens naturally through a process of disturbance and beings working toward a shared aim (such as evolving the health of the forest). In human systems we need to initiate regeneration consciously.

Breakout rooms during the Zoom summit will be re-sourced by current reNourish Studio Cohort participants. Unlike expert coaching or teaching, re-sourcing is a process of helping you to stop looking to experts for answers and reconnect to your own source of wisdom and understanding.

3 1/2 hours, we’ll take a 20 minute break during our time together

This summit would be a good fit for you if you are:

  • a leader or manager in a food-related business or are a food system activist
  • are curious about regeneration as a process
  • frustrated by current attempts to evolve our industrialized food system
  • interested in how the process of regeneration can apply to your business endeavors
  • interested in reNourish Studio’s offerings and want a sense of the way we work

About reNourish Studio

reNourish Studio is a forum for food business leaders and managers, and food systems activists to disrupt their habitual thinking about business. Together, we are creating effective strategies so that our upgraded approach to business can evolve our food systems and structures to better nourish all life. Instead of being stuck between prioritizing the business bottom line or enabling regeneration, we see a path forward that doesn’t require a choice and allows businesses to be more successful when they work to evolve the systems they belong to.

We care that our food system can and should nourish all life – from our ecosystems, to food access, to many dimensions of nourishment including spirit and culture. We see that our industrialized food system is delivering a lot of value. It is consistent, food safe, relatively inexpensive, provides calories to a global population that has doubled in the last three decades. We don’t seek to build an alternative system, instead we aim to regenerate the one we have.
