Poetic Motivation: Create a Life-Affirming Illustrated Poster

about this event

In this workshop, you will learn about lettering skills and making words look beautiful with skills in fonts and lettering – as well as illustration skills with watercolor and gouache paint.

Creativity is encouraged all levels, be messy and have fun. Everyone is an artist, and you’re invited to trust in your innate ability to be an artist.

Come to the class with phrases or words from a recent meditation, affirmation, or inspiring observation.

You may also listen to the free Soul | Meditation | Poetry workshop and follow the guided meditation for inspiration.

Using this motivational phrase, we will all make a life-affirming poster for a place near our altar, morning routine area, bedroom, living space, or home.

You will need the following:

  • Pencil and eraser
  • Hot press watercolor paper, smooth surface watercolor paper ( 11”’x 17” largest)
  • Water colors, in tray or in tube
  • At least 2 colors in acrylic gouache as accent colors
  • Ruler
  • Masking tape or painters tape
  • Acrylic paint brushes for watercolor brushes, sized small to medium
  • Small pallet, or plastic tray
  • Clear space to make art
  • Paper towels or tissue
  • Water in a cup or small bowl

Stencils of flowers, patterns, etc. can be found on line or at your local craft or art supply store!
