Since March of 2020 we at Mama Glow have been offering the Mama Glow Doula Homeschool: Level 1 training program online to serve our global community of birth workers.

The Spring 2023 weekly program covers pregnancy through the early postpartum period and will take place once per week on Sundays over a 6-week period, with the execption of Easter Sunday (April 9th). 

Starting Sunday, March 26th – May 7th. Sundays from 12pm-3:30pm ET. 

The course tuition is offered at $745.

The MAMA GLOW DOULA HOMESCHOOL virtual training program includes LIVE digital training via Zoom with Latham Thomas and modules with guest teachers, assignments to complete at home and with your fellow doula trainees. 

We care about community.

Mama Glow Doula trainees have time to connect digitally for face-to-face chat online with your doula siblings. Level 1 Doula Trainees will have a designated TA (a Teacher Assistant) to help support you during the program in our private online community. Trainees have an orientation the week prior to class starting and a private group within our online membership platform. 

This program is open to all regardless of previous experience.

Our work at Mama Glow is to improve the experience of birth for people everywhere. We are changing the face of maternal health by empowering birthing people at the threshold of change in their lives. We see birth as a unique opportunity to support and empower all people as well as educate society about the innate strength of the body and the sacred process of pregnancy and birth. We offer full spectrum doula support. Our doulas support clients during fertility, birth clients and new parents, holding their hands as they transition into this new phase of their lives. We seek to dismantle the stigmas and fears around the birth process for birthing folks. We also work to democratize birth support and have birth doulas available for every person or family that desires one. 

As birth activism is central to the pulse of our mission and training, we weave the thread of advocacy with our distinguished, world-renown and award-winning guest teachers. Our unique format will allow us to provide foundational LEVEL 1 training. The course includes preparation and education for birth doula support. This is a CERTIFICATE PROGRAM. 

Mama Glow Doula Homeschool Level 1 is a Path To Doula Certification with Mama Glow.

Upon completion of the 6 week live class and program modules, doula trainees receive a Mama Glow Doula Trainee Certificate that indicates that they are ready to start their work in the field, are adequately prepared to support birthing clients, and are on the path towards doula certification. We offer monthly certification support to ensure you complete the course requirments for doula certification. It is our belief that every doula who emerges from the homeschool program should be equipped to serve birthing people during pregnancy, birth and the early postpartum period.

LEVEL 1 is the first step towards full MAMA GLOW DOULA certification. Beyond the homeschool weekly program, doulas-in-training will need to complete mandatory coursework, reading, essays, attend mandatory LEVEL 1 Modules (virtually) that support continuing education for doulas on the path to LEVEL 1 certification. All this work will begin after your in-class training period. After completion of LEVEL 1 you will be eligible to take the LEVEL 2 program which focuses on Complicated Birth and Postpartum Doula Support.

LEVEL 1 will prepare newly minted doulas to begin working in all settings, including in traditionally underserved and under-estimated communities. Many of our doulas have successfully transitioned into full time doula work. Our program is a pathway to securing work as a practicing doula and we provide opportunities for our Mama Glow Doula Trainees (DT) and Mama Glow Certified Doulas (CD) to secure birth clients around the USA and the world through our bespoke Doula Matching service, private partnerships and community-based doula programs through the Mama Glow Foundation.

MAMA GLOW DOULA HOMESCHOOL: LEVEL 1 program for prospective birth doulas and practicing doulas who want to deepen their skill sets.

The weekly intensive program will be jam packed with content, but convenient for you to easily integrate into your busy schedule. The course meets once per week on Sundays and you have weekly homework assignments to be completed. All LIVE classes are recorded for on-demand viewing, so this course is ideal for folks in various time zones around the world and for a variety of work and family schedules.

This certification program is open to all regardless of experience. Our doula trainees come from all walks of life and everyone is welcome here. Everyone has something unique to contribute to this work.

Curriculum including continuing education modules will be reviewed at the beginning of the course. A digital entrance interview will be requested a week prior to your training start date and all trainees will have an optional online group orientation a week before class starts to meet your classmates.
