Mama Glow Doula Holiday Meet-Up: Exploring the Path to Midwifery

about this event

Welcome doulas, midwives and care providers! We look forward to hosting you at the Soft Space by Mama Glow for a holiday meetup that explores midwifery and doula work. This gathering is for anyone who is interested in or currently practicing in the following areas: reproductive health care, birth, postpartum, abortion, and end of life doula support. This is a safe space to learn, connect with other practitioners and grow.

This gathering will be facilitated by Karma Tudor, Head of Community at Mama Glow and she will be joined by local Certified Nurse Midwife who will share their career journey and make space for questions as well. This is a time to gather and learn more about the day-to-day life of a midwife and pathways of different birth workers. You can expect to enter an informal space and to meet like minded individuals and discover helpful resources along the way.

December 17th, 4:30-6:00pm

Investment: $20.00 + Processing Fees

Ticket includes a holiday gift bag with products from Agni, Carol’s Daughter, Evereden, and Swehl (over $100.00 in value).

Annalee Reid, LM, CM, BSMLS, CD

Annalee began her journey to the birth world as a little girl running around with a Fisher Price doctor’s bag taking temperatures with my plastic thermometer. She knew from then that she wanted to help babies come into this world.

She finished her undergraduate degree and became a Medical Laboratory Scientist in 2011, and then in the Summer of 2013 she fell in love with midwifery and started on the journey. She has since then attended Midwives College of Utah to become a Certified Professional Midwife, become a Birth doula, lived in Guatemala for 3 months serving at underserved birth centers outside of the capital and in the mountains with the indigenous midwives. She moved back to New York and completed a Master’s in Midwifery.

Annalee has a deep passion for her community which is demonstrated through her work thus far with SuperMamma Birth Services. From public speaking on women’s health topics, to education for mammas and partners, to Community Baby Showers, advocacy work with the Birth Justice Defenders, and contributing to research for improvement of fetal and maternal health, midwifery is her heart and soul.
