Made By Water

about this event

Together we will explore sounds in the natural world & what it means to find your sonic sanctuary

“ Sound can be used as a stimulant, to wake us up and energize us, but it can also be our guide in calming down, easing up, and taking our time. A landscape that facilitates this — a please where we can escape, surrounding ourselves in our ideal level of auditory stimulation to feel creative, relaxed, or inspired, depending on our goals — is what I call a “sonic sanctuary”. – Lavender Suarez

Immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of Salal Creek, an ecotone where land and water converge in a harmonious symphony. Using the fluid medium of watercolor, we’ll paint the natural rhythms of the creek, listening for the rustle of leaves, the trickle of water, and the songs of birds. We’ll explore the power of the ecotone as a space of intersection and transformation, where diverse elements come together to create something entirely new.
