La Sandunga Dia De Los Muertos Themed Play Inside An Art Installation!

about this event

Join us for a Dias De Los Muertos Themed Play inside of Laurie Shapiro’s “Alchemy Tunnel” installation and get in the mood for Halloween! Live music before and after the performance

Synopsis: The short one-act play “La Sandunga,” written by R.C. Olen and directed by McCall Cadenas, tells the story of two siblings (Suzette Labra and Scot Wade Cain) searching for answers as to the death and restlessness of their mother (Olivia Mia Orozco) in the wisdom of a kooky sham psychic (Ronda Thomas), in a performance that is equal parts straight play, dance, and art installation. Cadenas has created a vibrant world within a psychic’s parlor that breathes as much life into this story and its characters, both living and dead, as their actors do.
