Introvert’s Dance Party! An Ecstatic Dance Experience Hosted by Body Love Portal
Guided by JGlow (Somatic Embodiment Dance Teacher)
*Wear Whatever, Dance However, No Talking Necessary.
🖤 FRIDAY OCT 31 @ 4 pm 🖤
Seeking community connection and spaciousness to process through gentle movement?
Join me in co-creating a 2.5-hour somatic movement experience tailored to these unprecedented and chaotic times.
Let us gather to move, roll, squirm, wiggle, or writhe together in a brave and heart-led space.
Dance your ya-yas out to a playlist spanning different genres and styles, specifically curated to evoke various emotional energies and move with thematic elements (earth, air, fire, water).
What is Ecstatic Dance?
- A space to move freely, where movement is celebrated and encouraged.
- You will be guided through a restorative and trauma-informed practice, giving you a soft space to land.
- Take it at your own pace. There is no choreography or style to put on.
- You will be guided through a brief grounding meditation, followed by a transition into free-flowing movement to a curated playlist.
- The entire space is yours to move about in.
- This container is designed for you to tap in and find respite, release through intentional movement, and allow time for yourself to process and integrate.
- Let the music move you. Let your body be witnessed with love and compassion.
- Let dance be your medicine.
Who This Space is For:
- Anyone who wants to be celebrated for showing up exactly as they are
- Anyone who desires gentle movement and or freedom to express
- Anyone who wants time and spaciousness to process, integrate, transmute, and alchemize energy, emotions, or how they may be showing up in their body
- Especially encouraged are healers, community leaders, activists, and caregivers who seek a space to be held, grounded, witnessed, and honored.
- No previous dance experience is necessary. All genders friendly

Together, we will co-create a dance floor that becomes a brave and sacred space.
Please be mindful of the following guidelines and gift us your presence:
Rules of Consent and Engagement:
- Ecstatic Dance is a body language-led experience, except for giving consent or making any sounds/vibrations. Please keep conversations outside.
- No phones or cameras on the floor: Be Free and Present: dance however you feel, without judgment, and practice being fully present in the moment.
- Barefoot dancing is highly encouraged to protect the dance floor and foster a connection with the space.
- No Substances or Intoxicants (alcohol, stimulants, or other recreational drugs): Maintaining a clear mind is crucial for fully immersing yourself in the dance experience. Let the variety and texture of sounds and music transport you into a state of deep immersion.
- No touch: Please respect others’ boundaries and obtain consent before engaging in any physical interaction.
- Be mindful of your movement and its impact on others, and be open to their signals about wanting space.
Reminders:
- Please bring water to stay hydrated
- Wear whatever clothing makes you feel comfortable and allows for free movement. Wear whatever may tickle your fancy. ‘Costumes’ are welcome and encouraged. Anything from tutus to baggy pants, oversized shirts, or a fun hat, sunglasses, veils, or leg warmers. You are free to play with clothing and textures that suit your mood.
- Pieter Performance Space is accessible by one flight of stairs and an elevator (code will be sent out after you purchase a ticket)
- There is a free city parking lot in the back, and usually plenty of street parking in the area (paid or free, please check all posted city signs).
- The restrooms available in the building are gender neutral.
- There is a fifteen-minute grace period to allow for latecomers. I will lock the doors at 4:15 pm to begin the opening ritual. This ensures a safe environment for participants and eliminates distractions. Please plan to arrive at or before 4:00 pm to allow yourself some time to get settled and comfortable.
- Bring an item (a flower, plant, crystal, rocks, notes, or a picture, etc.) if you would like to contribute to a group altar. You will be able to take it with you when you leave.
Welcome to the Body Love Portal. This is an intentional space we are co-creating together. Let us dance and celebrate each other with mindfulness and love.
