Join us at 4KINSHIP for a special community gathering with Ashita Singhal, founder of the India-based textile studio Paiwand
and the 2026 International Folk Art Market Artist-in-Residence.
Ashita transforms discarded textiles into vibrant fabrics using traditional techniques like handloom weaving, aari embroidery, and kantha stitching—reimagining waste as creative possibility.
4KINSHIP founder Amy Denet Deal will lead a conversation with Ashita exploring how upcycling and working with existing materials is deeply rooted in ancestral traditions—from South Asian to the Southwest artisan practices.
Ashita will lead a collaborative weaving installation and guests are invited to bring small pieces of used cloth to weave into a shared community textile, creating a collective artwork rooted in story, memory, and connection.
A curated selection of Paiwand apparel and textiles will also be available in the 4KINSHIP shop at 1300 Rufina Circle in Santa Fe.
Bring cloth. Bring stories. Bring kinship.
