Once a glass factory, The Knockdown Center has been transformed into a art and performance space. With vast indoor and outdoor spaces, this gallery/venue hosts a variety of events and experiences.
Its outdoor space is large enough for food trucks, a large dance floor and a couple bars. In summer, flowering vines grow over pieces of steel and brick which were once part of the factory, making it look like hipster Roman ruins. This space is ideal for day parties that go into the night. And the acoustics were surprisingly good for the couple DJ sets I’ve caught here.
The indoor spaces are massive and have the exposed-beam and high ceilings of the best art galleries in the city.
The flexibility and range of this space are ideal for many large and small scale experiences, but especially: music, and large art installations.
