Weekly Doula Homeschool Digital Training Program

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have come up with a way to ensure that your doula training continues: Mama Glow Doula Homeschool: Level 1 brings the training right into the comfort of your home.

The weekly program covers pregnancy through the early postpartum period and will take place Sundays over a 6-week period. Starting Sunday, June 7th – July 19th (no class July 4th weekend) The course will be offered at $475 (at a significant tuition discount). This includes weekly class on Sundays from 11am-2pm ET. The virtual program will include hours of LIVE video chat training via Zoom with Latham Thomas and modules with guest teachers, assignments to complete at home and with your fellow doula trainees. Plus there are opportunities for Q&A with Latham and ample time to connect digitally for face-to-face chat online with your doula sisters. Level 1 Doula Trainees will have a designated TA (a Teacher Assistant) to help support you during and through the end of the program. With an orientation the week prior to class starting. This program is open to all regardless of previous experience.
Our work at Mama Glow is to improve the experience of birth for women everywhere. We are changing the face of maternal health by empowering women at the threshold of change in their lives. We see birth as a unique opportunity to support and empower women as well as educate society about the innate strength of the female body and the sacred process of pregnancy and birth. We offer full spectrum support for fertility, birth clients and new mothers, holding their hands as they transition into this new phase of their lives. We seek to dismantle the stigmas and fears around the birth process for women. We also work to democratize birth support and have birth doulas available for every woman who desires one.
As birth activism is central to the pulse of our mission and training, we will weave the thread of advocacy with our distinguished, world-renown and award-winning guest teachers. Our unique format will allow us to provide foundational LEVEL 1 training. The course includes preparation and education for birth doula support. It is our belief that every doula who emerges from the immersion program should be equipped to serve women before, during and after pregnancy.
We are thrilled to be hosting our LIVE digital MAMA GLOW DOULA HOMESCHOOL: LEVEL 1 program for prospective birth doulas.
The Weekly intensive will be jam packed with content, but convenient for you easily integrate into your busy schedule. The course meets once per week on Sundays, with the exception of July 4th weekend.

This program is open to all irregardless of experience. Our doula trainees come from all walks of life. Everyone has something unique to contribute to this work.

LEVEL 1 is the first step towards full MAMA GLOW DOULA certification. Beyond the homeschool weekly program, doulas-in-training will need to complete mandatory coursework, reading, essays, attend mandatory LEVEL 1 Modules (virtually) that support continuing education for doulas on the path to LEVEL 1 certification. All this work will begin after your initial training weekend. After completion of LEVEL 1 you will be eligible to take the LEVEL 2 program which focuses on Complicated Birth and Postpartum Doula Support. LEVEL 3 is our apprenticeship level for experienced doulas.
LEVEL 1 will prepare newly minted doulas to begin working in all settings including in traditionally underserved communities. Many of our doulas have successfully transitioned into full time doula work. Our program is a pathway to securing work as a practicing doula and we provide opportunities for our doula trainees and certified doulas to secure birth clients around the USA and the world through our booking service.
Curriculum including continuing education modules will be reviewed at the beginning of the course. A digital entrance interview will be requested a week prior to your training start date and all trainees will have an optional online group orientation a week before class starts to meet your classmates.
